Basic Info
Name:Jennifer Schecter
Bio
I am Jenny Schecter, and I'm a writer. Well, I'm planning on being one, but I'm taking classes right now so I can figure some stuff out.

Writing is -- it's really important for people to get in touch with their roots, you know? I mean, you can't understand yourself unless you understand how to use words, and writing is all about exposing your soul to the world. You have to flay your soul with syllables and phrases to understand what motivates people and drives them to be the kinds of monsters that they are. But of course, there's a little bit of a demon in each of us.

The only thing we can really do is take that monster and try to eviscerate ourselves with it so we understand the boundary between ourselves and the monster and -- how little of a boundary there truly is. We are all perpetually tottering on the very edge of a void within ourselves -- so what I do as a teacher is show my students that this void exists, so they may fling themselves into their craft wholeheartedly.

Oh! Um, a personal statement about myself.

Well, as I said before, I'm Jenny. I, um, I used to be engaged to this guy named Tim. I was really in love with him, but then this girl Marina came along, and I just -- she made me feel so dismantled, you know? So I, um, I had an affair with Marina, and then stuff just kind of -- I -- uh. So then I thought I was a lesbian, but it turns out I'm, um, bisexual?

And then I was in this love triangle between myself and my roommate Shane and, uh, this other girl, Carmen, and then I -- um. So it was kind of this big mess, so I decided to take a teaching sabbatical for a year or two just so I could get stuff figured out for a while.

So anyway, I'm over that now.

** OOC: Jenny isn't mine; she's originally from the L Word fandom.
